Here is a list of the classes offered at Fireshaper Hot Yoga, I take classes at their Rutherford NJ location, but they offer classes in North Haledon and Westwood NJ, and Nyack NY. They will be opening a Gold Coast Australia location in the near future.

All aspects of this practice exist in perfect balance. Here you will find the ultimate fusion of Hot Yoga. Breath, Movement, and Thought work in unison to create the changes of your choice. This class emphasizes additional strength development of the upper body as well as increased opening of the hips and pelvis. This particular series will also challenge your upper body in new ways as well as create new access points into your body. Every muscle, joint, organ, and cell will be re-awakened and brought towards their more normal balanced state.
The goal of this Hatha Yoga practice which, follows the Bishnu Ghosh tradition, is mainly focused on healing the body. Though the classes are challenging, healing the body from the inside out is a very important concept brought to us from Paramahansa Yogananda & Bishnu Ghosh.
Unlike many styles of yoga, this Hatha practice works through the entire body equally to leave you with a “well balanced” form and practice. Once the body has been worked through and brought into equilibrium it will be open and cooperative to enjoy a more directed asana practice such as hip openers, back-bends, or stretching postures.

This is a quick, invigorating & powerful yoga session that will touch on every muscle, joint, organ, and cell as they are re-awakened. The goal of this series is to jump start your system by working towards establishing a Well Balanced You through compressing and stretching the entire body. The pace of the class will work to create a healthy heart muscle as the tone of the series challenges the cardiovascular component of health. For those that need a quick and powerful "pick me up" set, this is the class for you.

Hot Vinyasa Flow
Our hot and powerful Vinyasa Flow class is a dynamic flowing yoga session which teaches you how to use your breath to move your body. Breath and Body move at the same time each feeding off of each other.
A greater awareness of breath and incorporating it into the physical movements known as asanas will allow you, as a human being, to just breathe and be. A person who breathes freely in their daily life will find GREAT LOVE in their hearts and the freedom to live. The asanas (postures) are beginner level and yet can be challenging at times as they tend to vary from class to class, teacher to teacher. The variation introduces you to only some of the 84 million yoga posture variations known to exist. This is a beginner level class. Experienced students are instructed on the more advanced modifications during the class which allows you to also be witness to the depths of many asanas.

This is a great class for the Beginner student to start. This Beginning Hot Yoga Series is taught in the tradition learned through the Lineage from Calcutta India. This is a 90-minute class that will have you work yourself through the entire body.
Every muscle, joint, organ, and cell will be re-awakened and lead towards their more normal balanced state. The goal of this series is to establish a Well Balanced You through compressing and stretching the entire body.
Very helpful to your Spine, you will feel a refreshed sense of being as this series of postures centers you on your spine and invigorates your nervous system helping to achieve a positive state of equilibrium. Many people begin their yoga practice here working to achieve overall wellness or even working to correct injuries and imbalances. Here you will be challenged physically, mentally, and spiritually as you dig deeper into self.

OUR ONLY HALF PRICE CLASS, this classic hot yoga class will be led by our newest and freshest teachers, all certified in our 200 hour teacher training program. Enjoy the benefits of a discounted drop-in class rate while working hard through a well-balanced asana practice and supporting the development of our newest teachers.
This class not only focuses on the process of formation and growth for our teachers, but for you the practitioner. You will access every muscle, joint, organ and cell in this traditional hot yoga practice. You will effectively work towards the overall healing of your body from the inside out. This is an excellent class for the brand new beginner student or the experienced practitioner who is working towards a well-balanced practice.

This is a wonderful class choice for the beginner student to start. Developed by Jimmy Barkan, this class is a true evolution of hot hatha yoga practice. One of the nation’s premiere hot yoga teachers, Jimmy finds his roots in the tradition of Paramahansa Yogananda & Bishnu Ghosh, the innovators of hot yoga and Bikram Choudhury, who brought this style of yoga to the United States. Bikram taught Jimmy Barkan in California in the early 80’s and considered him one of his most senior teachers.
The Barkan Method finds its roots from this lineage in Calcutta, but also integrates postures from other styles of yoga to create variations and even greater range of motion. The yoga classes are practiced in a heated room to stretch and strengthen various areas of the body. The practice brings vital balance and restores all systems to optimal health. Consistency will create a physical, mental and spiritual harmony that will be felt in all areas of the practitioner’s life.

Compose
Sacred Music
Although a very challenging class, in this Sacred Music class we dim the lights very low and play soothing and inspiring music to a Bikram-style class. This class allows students to focus more on the mental and spiritual aspects of the practice while still receiving the physical benefits. Verbal instruction is minimal, therefore we ask that you take at least 10 hot yoga classes and are familiar with our sequences and poses before attending the Compose class.
The increased focus on the soulful aspect of each asana, allows you to express yourself and go beyond the physical aspect of each pose to find a deeper yoga in the mental and spiritual realms of the practice. It will take your yoga practice to another level and teaches you that we can let go of the expectations and the ego-driven "a pose has to look and feel this way" attitude, we can find a beautiful peace and honesty within ourselves.

It is our Kids yoga fun… Joyful, playful self-expression for kids!
Children have different needs, respond to different stimuli, and learn in different ways. Our kids’ class offers nontraditional yoga classes: invigorating, interactive, imaginative journeys into your child’s developing mind, body, and spirit.

Each yoga practice is built from the ground up, creating an exclusively child-based practice and giving children the sometimes rare opportunity to just be kids within the context of yoga asana and meditation.
Busy lifestyles are commonplace for today’s kids due to a combination of factors including varied caregivers, over stimulation, academic and social pressure and full schedules. As a result, many kids are “maxed out” and many parents are seeking ways to help reduce stress and have fun with their kids.
Beyond the well-known benefits such as increasing strength, flexibility, and concentration, yoga is non-competitive and fun! The benefits of yoga for our children include:

KonMari - Clothing AKA the reason I'm not naked

Marie Kondo starts with clothing because, I guess, we are more quick to purge clothing. We have to do this over the course of life when clothing gets ruined or looks old. She obviously doesn't know people like I do, because I've seen closets that are packed full of every item the person has bought in the past 20 years (or more). I am not this bad ONLY BECAUSE I have fluctuated weight up and down so often that much of my wardrobe consisted of cheap Old Navy or (insert plus size store) which never wears more than a year. I don't have many lasting staples. No real investments at my size.

The saving grace is that the process Kondo gives--get all the clothes, put them all together on the floor and touch each piece as you sort into joyful items, donate items, and trash items--forces a mental revelation. YOU HAVE TOO MUCH STUFF. I had over 30 tee shirts! I had 15 pairs of jeans! I had over a dozen day dresses and 10 fancy ones! I had 24 pairs of underwear, many I hated wearing b…

KonMari - Being Intuitive versus Being Rational

When discarding, follow your intuition. Don't rationalize holding on to things because they are "perfectly good" or useful, though you haven't actually had a use for it or love it.

Your gut knows the real-talk about an item. Your brain talks its way through reasoning value.

Your gut feels the emotion (good and bad) attached to your things. Your brain makes up stories to justify their existence.

You feel joy in your gut. You think about pros and cons in your head.

This is probably the best and worse advice Kondo gives.

Being intuitive and not rational is great when going through clothes, shoes, excess kitchen tools, decorations, etc. I'll bet most people can easily pinpoint that item that they know they hold on to but they have never used or it doesn't fit, or it is just there for no real reason.

When I first read this, I could name several items I have saved because I thought I would use them, but I have never used them.

Day 60: Top 10 Before and After - Number 1

Last Day of my fast! I am so happy. I have my meal of prunes soaking for tomorrow. I am thrilled.

I went to Nyack Main Essentials, that Vegan Dominican Juice Bar I went to on my birthday 60 days ago.  I had pineapple celery kale parsley lemon ginger juice.  It was really great.  That grapefruit asian pear juice was pretty good too. For dinner, after my interview, I made tomato basil leek parsley celery juice that was great.  Overall it was a great day, and I am looking forward to eating my first solid food in 2 months!
